The Past, Present, and Future of the Reunion Logo Cup

June 8, 2021

During Reunions 2021, alumni gathered virtually for a special presentation hosted by the Greening Reunions Alumni Working Group, on “The Past, Present, and Future of the Reunion Logo Cup.” The event, which was emceed by Greening Reunions member Frank Derby ’84, began with Sev Onyshkevych ’83 who led the group through the history of Reunions and beer, followed by Stu Rickerson ’71, who took everyone through the genesis of the plastic logo cup. The presentations were accompanied by images from the Princetoniana Museum shared by Tom Swift ’76. Greening Reunions member Thara Srinivasan ’95 then presented insights into the environmental impact of Reunions, how we might tackle the plastic cup problem and some of the alternatives now available. The event concluded with a lively discussion about potentially more sustainable pathways forward.
