Forest Stewardship Study

Researchers: Professor, Ecology & Evolutionary Biology (EEB), Jonathan Levine

Project Summary: Dr. Levine is leading a project in collaboration with Princeton Facilities’ Grounds department to study the impact of different forest management strategies. The project involves marking out 2x2 experimental design grids in six forested areas north of Lake Carnegie to assess how intentional invasive species removal and enclosed deer fencing impact vegetation diversity, especially native species. Students in an intro EEB lab course will be responsible for collecting and analyzing the data over time to assist in informing Princeton’s forest stewardship plan.
