EcoReps Clothing Swap - Spring 2019
*FREE CLOTHES* *CLEAN CLOSETS* *REDUCE WASTE*
Are you spring cleaning and want to revamp your closet?
Are you looking for a cute outfit for lawn parties?
Look no further!
From the team who brought you cheap dorm essentials during move-in, the Princeton EcoReps present to you the semi-annual Clothing Swap!!
How it works:
- Please help us to help you clean out your closets by donating gently used clothing in labeled bins around campus from 4/28-5/3.
-On Saturday, May 4, come into Frist MPR A to pick out ~free~ donated clothing items.
-All leftover clothes are donated to charity.
Your impact: The EPA estimates that 6.5% of materials going to the landfill are clothing items that could have been recycled. It’s no surprise that the fashion industry is ranked as the 2nd “dirtiest” industry in the world behind oil. By recycling a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, you can save 9,700 liters of water. That’s as much drinking water a human needs for 900 days. In addition, recycling and reusing your clothing helps to reduce energy usage (the fashion industry is the #1 energy user globally), prevent pesticide use, and help rid our aquatic ecosystems from toxic chemicals dumped during clothing production.
NOTE: Donating clothing is not necessary to participate in the swap, but highly encouraged!
