This highly interactive and in-person workshop engages staff in understanding their role in the work of Environmental Justice and Sustainability on campus and beyond.
Workshop topics include:
- Definitions of Environmental Justice
- Facilities: Where Sustainability and Environmental Justice Connect
- Local Environmental Justice Issues
- Environmental Justice and the Princeton Campus
- Tools ad Action for Environmental Justice
Personnel will understand:
- Their role in Environmental Justice and tools they can use to make a difference
- How to talk about Environmental Justice with colleagues and community members
- How to recognize Environmental Justice issues on campus and in their communities
Workshop Instructor:
Running Grass, a long-time partner of the Princeton Office of Sustainability. He is nationally recognized for his formative contributions to the fields of multicultural environmental education and Environmental Justice. He was a delegate to the First National People of Color Environmental Leadership Summit in 1991, which launched the Environmental Justice movement onto the national stage. Running-Grass served as Environmental Justice Coordinator at EPA for 22 years where he worked on Environmental Justice issues at the community and governmental levels.
