At a time of unprecedented environmental challenges, a unique gathering of conservation leaders from across society came together to discuss and share solutions at the Earth Optimism Summit, recently held in Washington, DC. Students attended the event alongside scientists, thought leaders, philanthropists, conservationists and civic leaders, celebrating "a change in focus from problem to solution, from a sense of loss to one of hope, in the dialogue about conservation and sustainability."

Farmers' Market 2016

Campus Dining participated in the weekly spring campus Farmers’ Market. Featured were delicious samples from local producers, including Blueberry Bill’s blueberries, Severino Pasta, Mother Earth Organic Mushrooms and more. 

Sustainability Award

Campus Dining won the Gold Medal for the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) Sustainability Award for 2016 in the category of waste management for its on-going efforts to minimize waste sent to landfills and waste water systems by diverting biodegradable waste to composting (or other landfill deferred systems) whenever possible, and by maximizing recycling efforts throughout the department.

Annual Ivy League Vegan Conference

On February 7–9, 2014, Princeton University will host the third Ivy League conference dedicated to exploring plant-based diets and bioethics.

The conference facilitates dialogue on research, builds a lasting and powerful network of colleagues, and expands the concept of veganism for the modern scholar and professional. Each year, there is one day focused on industry and finance; the theme for the iV 2014 business programming is Innovation in the Food Industry.
