Sustainable Fashion
Summer/Fall 2013

Exhibit Description

What is Sustainable Fashion? From using materials that are grown and processed using non-harmful techniques, to designing with durability and extended use in mind, sustainable fashion can take many forms. This exhibit features the student-run group, The Sustainable Fashion Initiative (SFI) which was founded in 2011 by Carmina Mancenon '14, Megan Partridge '14, and Jenna Rodrigues '14. SFI is dedicated to cultivating a culture of sustainability in the fashion industry that is grounded in the conviction of young consumers to live, create, and shop purposefully. Through its initiatives, SFI provides a platform of discovery for the campus community. Also featured are sustainably designed dresses and textiles, as well as products including Ubomi Bead jewelry and a FEED Project tote bag, which are made by companies founded by Princeton social entrepreneurs.
